Week 6 | 10/4 - 10/10

This week I had the best time with my family. We got to go to an Aventura concert, which for those who don't know is a latino band that split-up in 2011, they are a treasure of sorts. There are four band members, Romeo Santos being the most known and the lead vocalist, then Henry the secondary vocals, Lenny the guitarist , and Max who plays the bass. This is a band I have been listening since childhood and they represent music from my country, Dominican Republic, as well as their music is just good. Without a doubt I had a lot of fun, this was my first concert and I'm glad I got to do it. I definitely needed this concert in my life, it's wonderful to be reminded of my home country and just feeling like I belong somewhere even when that place feels so far away. I hope to continue doing fun stuff during my stay in NJ and I hope that I can continue enjoying my time with my family.

This is a video/clip of Aventura singing "La Boda", a beautiful song about a man coming hope to find his girl getting married to some other dude! the ultimate betrayal.

This las clip is Aventura singing "Amor de Madre" (Mother's Love) a sad song about the unconditional love a mother gives to her son and the hardship/mistakes she made as they both navigate life. It's a rather bitter-sweet song, I would highly recommend listening to it and reading the english translation to get the whole picture.
